The Diviners – amazing new acquisition for Atom
Posted by Kate Agar in Book News
We recently acquired The Diviners, by Libba Bray, which is a wonderfully-drawn tale of Jazz-Age New York.
With a heroine who is fierce yet vulnerable, a cast of intriguing characters with prophetic abilities, and a supernatural and sinister serial killer, The Diviners shows off Bray’s remarkable talents as an author and is sure to appeal to lovers of both historical and paranormal fiction.
"Maybe it’s my unnatural love of flapper dresses, wisecracking heroines, outrageous glamour, Dorothy Parker, and anything related to The Great Gatsby, but I’ve been dying to write something about 1920s New York City for some time," says Bray.
"Fusing it with one of my other great loves, the supernatural, just makes it that much more fun to take on. I’m really happy to be working with the wonderful team at Little, Brown and look forward to offering readers a wild new ride full of dames and dapper dons, jazz babies and Prohibition-defying parties, conspiracy and prophecy – and all manner of things that go bump in the neon-drenched night."
The first book in Libba's new series, The Diviners, will be published in 2012

This new series sounds amazing! Cannot wait to check it out!
@Leanna Have you read her previous series, The Gemma Doyle trilogy? It totally still gives me goosebumps!
Hi Sam! I haven't read the Gemma Doyle books – must check those out! You guys have the Prophecy of the Sisters books coming out soon too – exciting times!
I loved Libba Bray's A Great and Terrible Beauty series and I cannot wait for this one. It's such a shame that 2012 is such a long way off.
