Atom, the young adult imprint of Little, Brown Book Group, is thrilled to announce that Sarra Manning, bestselling author of Guitar Girl and Let’s Get Lost, and the 2010 nominee for Queen of Teen and the Booktrust Teenage Prize, will be joining their list.
Atom will be publishing the first book from Sarra, Adorkable, in spring 2012. It was acquired in a two-book deal with Karolina Sutton of the Curtis Brown Literary Agency.
Adorkable (n. dorky yet strangely adorable) is a witty, wry look at a how one girl can have half a million followers on Twitter and still feel lonely.
‘I'm thrilled to be one of the first British authors on Atom Books and looking forward to this new chapter in my YA career,’ said Sarra Manning.
‘Sarra Manning is a genius at capturing those amazing, awkward teen years in a wonderfully relatable, authentic way,’ says Atom Editorial Director Sam Smith. ‘And Adorkable is absolutely one of those stand-out books that’s doesn’t only speak to teen girls but to the inner dork in all of us!’
Adorkable will be a major title for Atom’s spring 2012 list and will be backed by a major marketing campaign and fresh branding.
Sarra Manning’s adult books, including the upcoming You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me, will continue to be published by Transworld.
