What better way to get into a Halloween mood than read some super-spooky books?! We've been busy looking on our shelves to work out what will give you the best fright…
Don't Look Behind You, Lois Duncan
From the author of I Know What You Did Last Summer comes this heart-thumping tale of a family being pursued across America by a trained killer. Forced to take on new identities, they think they've reached safety…but have they? (Um, spoiler alert: they haven't…)
Monster High, Lisi Harrison
Ok, so this is more cute than creepy, but this story will give you more costume ideas than any other! Catch up with the descendents of the world's most famous monsters – Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf… There are monster puns aplenty which will have you rofl-ing for sure, and if that's not enough, you can watch this FEARSOME video with the catchiest Halloween tune you could ever want. (p.s. did we tell you there are also DOLLS?)
Breaking Dawn, Stephenie Meyer
Maybe you've read it once, maybe you've read it a million times, but now's the moment to get this one off your shelf again! Because a) what's more Halloweeny than vampires and werewolves? and b) the film is ALMOST HERE!! (Excited, much?) We guess, though, we'd also be happy for you to get your vampire fix from Destined or Misguided Angel, if they're more your cup of tea.
'What about more WEREWOLVES' we hear you say. Well, ok, to round off the list…
Nightshade, Andrea Cremer
Completely kick-ass heroine? Check. Hot hot hot love interest? Double check (there are two, you'll feel spoiled). And, most importantly for Halloween, spooky old mansion filled with something so terrifying we can't begin to describe it? Of course!
We'd love to hear what you'll be reading over the weekend to get you suitably scared for Monday!
