Cover Love: Michelle Zink
Posted by Sam Smith in Blog, Cover Launches
One of the most exciting bits about publishing a book is finding just the right look for the cover. It's a huge job trying to distill everything you love about a book – the atmosphere, the tone, the amazing characters, the fantastic energy of the plot – into one image that will look great on shelves.
And one of my favourite covers this summer is the look for Michelle Zink's fantastic Prophecy of the Sisters and Guardian of the Gate.
The images came courtesy of our sister company at Little, Brown Young Readers (and Michelle's US publisher) and our awesome designer here, Hannah, added the filigree around the edges (which, when you see it in shops, is super shiny!). They're romantic and mysterious and, I think, totally justice to this amazing series of books.
What do you guys think of the cover look? And what other covers have you seen recently that you like?

I really like both! I probably prefer the warmer Guardian of the Gate one, but I like how all the stares are off the camera!
I love these covers – can't wait to read the books! I think I'm going to love them!
I'm so glad you like them! Everyone at Atom towers has been so pleased with the new cover look, but it's the best feeling when readers agree!
I love both – all Michelle's covers have been lovely, even the hardcover PotS. Looking forward to seeing these in person!
Both these covers are gorgeous and even better in real life (and not just on screen).
